Live System USB Linux Lite USB triggers bitlocker recovery on Thinkpad X13

Hey,

I'm trying to run a Live System version of Linux Lite off a USB on a work Lenovo thinkpad x13 which is running Windows 11 and is bootlocker protected with TPM2.0.

I can boot it by turning off Safe Boot but then it's a pain as when i try to boot the windows partition it asks for a BitLocker recovery key.

I can also boot it with Secure Boot by enabling "Allow Microsoft 3rd Party UEFI CA" in the Lenovo Bios, but for some reason that still triggers Bitlocker recovery when booting into Windows?

Has anyone found a solution for this? Why should bitlocker care that 3rd party is enabled, it's still a certified secure boot? Is it to do with the TPM? I would love to just be able to boot off the USB without going into the BIOS everytime. Thanks in advance!

Secure Boot is more Slow in Kernel 6.6 than in Windows 10

Hello guys, how are you?

I only want to inform you that my Linux Lite 6.6 is very slow when booting. Compared with Windows 10, the time that I must wait is more or less double the time compared with Windows 10.

But the apps are quicker in Linux Lite 6.6 than in Windows 10! In Windows 10 it was really very slow or 10x of time!

I only want to give my feedback about this situation with the Secure Boot and know if this is happening with anyone here!

This Linux Lite 6.6 is used every day by my mother and is now adapted to Linux Lite 6.6 because Windows 10 was very slow, taking 15 minutes to open the browser Google Chrome.

In conclusion, I'm very satisfied with this Linux Lite 6.6 and my mother too!

Congratulations to the people who do this distribution!

Thank you very much!

Best Regards!

UEFI boot with LL 6.0

I installed LL 6.0 on an old machine via DVD. Apparently this mobo uses UEFI which I haven't used before.

After the install was done, booting the machine doesn't automatically start LL. It just stops with a blinking cursor. No other OS on the machine.

If I press F11 at boot for the boot menu, it doesn't show the grub menu I am used to but there is an option to boot Ubuntu. If I select this, then LL will boot ok.

So my questions are why doesn't LL start automatically and how can I get the grub menu to display automatically at boot with this UEFI stuff?

There is already the 32 bit efi on the iso but is not pointing to the boot image it only boots in grub. This is fine but on the non English keyboard and screen sideways is difficult to type commands. Can you at lest give me right command for the grub to boot the system?

Hi,
I've been on here before requesting a UEFI boot for the new upcoming LTS 5.0 linux lite. You say the trial Linux lite 5.0 RC1 has a UEFI boot. I just downloaded it on a usb to try it out on my Acer Chromebook 15 CB5-571 that I had changed its bios firmware to clean install linux to. I have downloaded Linux Lite UEFI 4.2 and updated to 4.8 on my Chromebook. It is working well. I can't get this new trial Linux Lite 5.0 RC1 to boot. It just goes to "grub" screen saying something about tabbing to find commands. I can put the usb in another computer and see the files of the download. Is there something I'm supposed to do to make the UEFI boot work? Kind of a dummy here.
